MURG/KW1MH is an ARRL affiliated radio "group" operating in a downtown underground New Haven Maker Space, known as MakeHaven. We assist Make Haven members in their electronic and radio projects. We operate a Radio bench in the main Maker-space Room for all to see. We demonstrate Amateur Radio, teach lessons and do testing and conduct The KW1MH VARG radio net. The public tours stop by our radio bench for demonstrations every Tuesday night. Persons interested in joining and supporting MakeHaven Underground Radio Group are eligible for membership first by being members of Make Haven, second by holding an FCC Radio Operators license…and third by accepting the terms as MURG/ KW1MH  provides in its By-Laws and badging. We are more about demonstrating to the public and members than we are about growing a large membership.. We are the only open to the public Maker-space in Connecticut with its own FCC Station License, call letters and radio bench. We are trying to set an example for all America's Maker Spaces.. We are independently funded by KW1YL and K1RSU and accept donations to grow our radio bench's capabilities..
