Emmision designator of MP-73n SSTV mode

This seems to be the central (and unanswered) question as to whether FCC-licensed Amateurs can legally use MP-73n SSTV mode on the 30m band. I have done a lot of searching on the net, with no results. No one can agree on what the emission designator for this mode is. I would like to see the ARRL technical staff become involved in finding what the emmission designator for this mode is, so that there can be a definitive answer to the question of whether FCC-licensed Amateurs can legally use MP-73n SSTV mode on the 30m band. I have seen far too much contradictory information on the net as to whether U.S. Amaterus can legally use MP-73n on 30m. We need to know the emission designator of this mode so we can have a definitive answer! |

Although the ARRL Lab will probably be involved, Dan Henderson, ARRL's regulatory speicalist, is out of the office until August 5. I'll see if we can answer the question when he returns. Edit: Zack Lau, W1VT, did a bit of searching and located the FCC Report that announced changes to the rules in 2006.
