We can understand why it takes two hours to process uploads to LOTW but WHY does it take so long for LOTW to accept the uploads? Why does ARRL provide LOTW if it can't support it better than it does - W4RIG (not a fan of LOTW) |

Based on my experiences using LoTW (I'm just a member) ... There are most likely separate mechanisms for the receipt of uploads and the processing of those uploads. Submissions to LoTW are most likely queued for processing in order of receipt. Notifications are sent out after each upload is processed. Your complaint is a bit vague, but it sounds to me like you're asking for an e-mail acknowledgement upon initial receipt of a log submission. Is this what you're asking for? Personally I have no complaints about LoTW; never had a problem using it. And the QSL confirmation process it sure faster than snail-mail, even with a 2-hour latency. |

I wish they'd make it more user friendly! I only download every other month or so and it is WAY complicated to log then even MORE complicated to download. I know the big concern is security BUT with all the secure means of using the net you'd think they could find an easier way! This issue is the biggest reason I don't use LoTW more often and has been my issue since LoTW started! |

I tried LOTW about 6 or 7 years ago. Found it not very user friendly and when I tried to use it again later on a new computer I could not get back on. I just use paper cards, after all it's not really a QSL without the card. |

https://p1k.arrl.org/lotwuser/default was up for me when I just tried it. Your LoTW username and password are in the e-mail (from the ARRL) containing your signed certificate. |

I can't log on and I give up, I don't need this aggravation. This is a horrible system that is a nightmare to use, and I'm a web designer... I seen bad before but not that bad. |

Did you go through the intial postcard process? Did you run TrustedQSL to generate your certificate request? Did you manually e-mail the certificate request (TQ5) file as an attachment to lotw-logs@arrl.org or upload it at https://p1k.arrl.org/lotw/upload? Once you complete those steps you will receive an e-mail containing the username and password you need to log-in to LoTW along with the certificate that you need to install in to TrustedQSL. |

Several stations that does not specify Propagation Mode = SATELLITE and upload their log to LoTW it will match as a terrestrial / point to point QSO (LoTW shouldn't match, but it does), even if the other station has specified Propagation Mode = Satellite. This mostly happen due the incompatibility of ADIF data between QRZ.com, eQSL, ClubLog, etc which does not contemplate Propagation Mode field and operators use their generated ADIF files to upload to LoTW. The way it is now VUCC via LoTW trust got seriously compromised. |
