I have been looking for D-STAR equipment and the only equipment I can find is ICOM. Does any one else make D-STAR ready equipment either HT or mobile? |

ICOM has been the sole source for most DSTAR gear. However, some enterprising hams have come up with ways to made other gear work for DSTAR. http://www.dutch-star.eu/ is one supplier of DSTAR compatible boards for building non-ICOM repeaters and gateways. Their boards can also convert a 9600 baud FM into a DSTAR radio, and they have pre-announced a line of DSTAR compatible radios. |

I maybe wasting my time waiting for Kenwood or Vertex / STANDARD AKA YAESU to produce radio. All I know Icom doesn't own D-STAR, the JARL does. I wonder if I aquired Motorola Saber III and switch out IMBE chip and install a AMBE, I wonder that would work/. |
